What is Information Governance?
Defining both information and governance to give you an understanding of information governance in the round and the principles that underpin it.

The Four Pillars of Information Governance
Here we will look at: Records management: knowing what you have and why. Privacy and Compliance: complying with people's rights and handling sensitive information. Security: the technical and organisational measures you should take to keep information safe. Accountability: demonstrating compliance and maintaining oversight.

The Legal and Ethical Framework
In this section we will explore the legal framework surrounding information governance in some depth, focussing on: The GDPR; Freedom of Information; Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations; The Caldicott Principles.

Managing Information Governance Risk
Risk management is an extremely useful tool for identifying core threats to and opportunities from the way you collect and manage data and information.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
In this module we will look at key roles in the field of information governance, including Data Protection Officer, and Caldicott Guardian.
