Course Structure and Content
The Course is split into seven modules, starting with core concepts, focussing on key risk areas, and then moving onto practical implementation:
Module 1: Understanding Interests
What are interests? This first module explains what interests are and the different type of interests that exist
Module 2: Understanding Conflicts of Interests
In this module we explore how interests can cause conflicts and what kind of conflicts can arise. We discuss how the perception of any conflicts of interests matters and explore both actual and potential conflicts
Module 3: Fraud and Bribery
We consider fraud and bribery and how they relate to conflicts of interests. The module explores how you can use your conflicts of interests systems to effectively prevent fraud and bribery and explore how these systems will help your organisation comply with its statutory duty to prevent both.
Module 4: Gifts, Sponsorship and Hospitality
Gifts, sponsorship and hospitality can be problematic for organisations so this module explores what they are and how to manage them in the context of conflicts of interests.
Module 5: Declaring Interests
Module 5 teaches you when and how to get people to declare any interests they have. It also covers how to manage these declarations in a GDPR compliant way.
Module 6: Making Decisions
Once interests are declared what do you do? This module covers next steps, from decision making to communication and implementation.
Module 7: Action Planning
The final stage is implementation. This module explores what you will do to apply your learning once the course ends with a focus on best practice and key performance indicators for successful delivery.
